This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of psychiatrists in clinical practice and will review four core risk management topics about which questions are frequently posed to the PRMS Risk Management Consultation Service. Discussion will be a “shallow dive” focused on the three or so most important things psychiatrists should know about each topic to help reduce their professional liability exposures. Topics for discussion will include documentation, social media, treating patients at risk for suicide, and administrative actions. The program will guide early career psychiatrists in focusing their risk reduction efforts and serve as a refresher for established psychiatrists for maintaining a low-risk practice.
