Speaker Bio
Dr. Matthew R. Galvin is a Child Adolescent Psychiatrist and Educator and a Distinguished Life Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. He was full-time faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry between 1984 and 1998, and continues to serve as Clinical Associate Professor, Voluntary Faculty. He is among the Founding Members of the Indiana University Conscience Project (https://conscienceworks.iu.edu) and since 1982 has been active in relevant research, contributing, as well, to articles on clinical and educational applications.
Dr. Galvin has been working on an extraordinary project “An Encyclopedia of Conscience” which is an alphabetical list of authors whose ideas provided a conceptual framework of conscience theory – stages, domains, and bedrock/intrinsic values and how it influences modern ethics, neuroscience, education, philosophy, psychology, and theology. In this webinar, he will be discussing a few brief entries in this Encyclopedia to provide an imaginative sketch of the form and function of each subject’s conscience.
